Finding the Perfect Summer Activity for your Little One: A Review of ASI Gymnastics

As the heat of summer sets in, finding a way to keep your energetic toddler entertained can be quite a challenge. That’s why I decided to enroll my 3-year-old daughter in an indoor gymnastics class at ASI Gymnastics in West Plano, just a stone’s throw away from our home. With a promotion on memberships, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to let her burn off some energy during the hot months, without breaking the bank!

A Spacious and Well-Organized Class with Engaging Rotations

Upon arrival, I was taken aback by how spacious the facility is. There were two classes in session, creatively sharing the floor by rotating through various sections. The class sizes were small, with about five kids each, which really allowed for individualized attention. They organized the time into five different rotation sections, including warm-up, obstacle course, and trampoline, each lasting around ten minutes. It was impressive how well they kept things moving!

However, I must admit that my daughter faced a bit of a hurdle at the beginning. The policy that caregivers weren’t allowed on the floor was a hard adjustment for us. I would have loved to step in and help her feel more comfortable, but the coaches maintained a strict adherence to this rule (which is understandable for safety reasons). Thankfully, they had an assistant coach designated for our class, and she worked wonders to help my daughter settle in.

A Fun Indoor Escape, Though a Bit Chaotic

As for the obstacle courses, it seemed that many of the kids could have benefited from that extra attention. It was a bit chaotic at times, with some of the children wandering around while waiting for their turns. The 45-minute class felt a tad short; I could tell my daughter had more energy to express. Nonetheless, it was a great way to escape the heat while ensuring she had an engaging morning.

On another note, I want to address the payment policy. Once you enroll and pay for tuition, refunds are not an option, which I initially found quite strict. I had to request a refund on the same day I made the payment and was only offered a non-expiring credit. While this can be frustrating, it’s something to keep in mind for anyone considering classes.

A Welcoming Open House with Exciting Perks and Promotions

One of the highlights of my experience has been attending their recent open house, where they held fun activities along with raffles. It was a fantastic way to get a feel for the place before committing fully, and ASI frequently runs promotions, including free memberships and discounted birthday party packages.

For all DFW parents out there searching for gymnastics classes for toddlers or kids, I highly recommend giving ASI Gymnastics a look. It offers a blend of structured learning, physical activity, and fun, all while keeping your little one cool during those sweltering summer days.

Have you ever attended a gymnastics class with your child? What was your experience like? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
